I have the motto “If you can dream it, I can turn it into cake” so… when someone came to me and wanted a hunting themed cake I was so excited! They were wanting just a little figure of a fish and buck, but I said it wasn’t good enough “go big or go home”. I modeled the deer off of a ceramic deer that my dad used to make years and years ago when I was little. The fish.. I modeled after the fish I wish I had caught!
Everything on this cake is edible, I don’t use anything fake on my cakes. The deer is sculpted from a chocolate cake, The head is crispy treats wrapped in modeling chocolate then sculpted. The antlers are just dried gum paste that is “glued” together using water! The fish on the base of the cake is covered in modeling chocolate then sculpted. Both are hand painted! I loved doing this cake, it was so much fun!
I’ve loved doing this cake, and I have people asking for the same cake (or with minor changes) very often!
